When BM started with CCPY, she was very shy and unsure of herself. She struggled with English, since Spanish is her first language and her goals for herself were to improve her grades, improve her English and to become more outgoing.
BM: When BM started with CCPY, she was very shy and unsure of herself. She
struggled with English, since Spanish is her first language and her goals for herself
were to improve her grades, improve her English and to become more outgoing. CCPY
supported her in moving toward her goals and provided inspiration, advice and hands-
on opportunities for her develop the skills needed to reach her goals. BM graduated this
year as an honor student from Overfelt High School. Last week, BM volunteered to share
about her personal experiences to a room of 30 middle school students, in English. BM
was eloquent, clear and powerful in her presentation. Just 6 months ago, BM never could
have imagined all that she could achieved with the support of CCPY.
