CCPY Given Outstanding Program Rating From San Jose Mayor's Gang Task Force
CCPY received a Service Performance Index rating of 903 OUT of 1,000 possible in San Jose’s Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task (MGPTF) evaluation report for the 2009-2010 program year.
In the program year 2010-2011, MGPTF selected CCPY as the only site for a visit by a team from the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans on their nationwide tour to investigate programs that produce predictable results with troubled teens. Juan Sepulveda, director of the Initiative, who was accompanied by Attorney General Eric H. Holder’s youth intervention team, said that CCPY had the best results of any such program that he had seen in the U.S.
